Hi, everyone!  Things are just great down here in SUNNY Peru!  (just had to get that dig in)  We are experiencing some technical challenges right now, so I haven’t been able to update the blog.  Hopefully, we’ll get them ironed out soon.

Last night was the big Christmas celebration at the orphanage.  We cooked and ate at Hannah’s Home and then partied at Hogar.  We fed at least 55 people and the kids were great!  This trip has been such a blessing!  Please continue to check this site as we will post as soon as we can!

Love ya all,

Terry

It is such an incredible blessing to be back in Peru with other staff and board members celebrating Christmas with our Peruvian brothers and sisters and the children at Hogar de Ninos. On Sunday morning we pulled up outside Pastor George’s church where Felix, Erica, and the children worship. Just as we were getting out of our vehicles Felix pulled up in his little blue car with all the kids he could fit in his first trip over. When they got out of the car and saw us their beautiful faces lit up (you who have experienced this are now melting, I know). This being my second trip and actually knowing these precious faces I was more overwhelmed than I can explain. Allison, Jose, Betsabell et al…hugs and more hugs. I love the brothers and sisters at this little church, too. They also welcome us with warm smiles, kisses for each cheek, and blessings. Their genuine appreciation in us joining their worship service is evident. Pastor George said in his sermon that day that we just need to hug each other to transmit our spiritual life to one another. I thought about how true that is and that he has obviously modeled that for his little congregation. I feel so very alive and so very much at home in their humble and sincere company. We have been on the go since Sunday. Lunch with the children in Pucasana on Sunday afternoon and a quick visit over to Hannah’s Home to see the progress made there since everyone’s last visit. Monday and Tuesday have been spent shopping and preparing for the Christmas Party on Thursday. This is a special trip for Jeff as he has brought his family with him for the first time; Rachel who is 7, Sarah age 3 almost 4, and Andrew–14 months. The kids have done absolutely incredible with the super-fast pace and very long days. They got along famously with the children at Hogar right off the bat and were very patient with the fascination with their blonde hair and fair skin. “Bonita gringo”…everywhere we go.  ~Tony Kay
